FRESNO (KMJ) — Two new Deputy Chiefs for Fresno Police were among the thirteen promotions within the department.
Lydia Caraasco and Andy Hall were given the titles during the ceremony inside Fresno City Hall Monday morning.
The seating area was packed full of friends, family members, law enforcement, and city officials.
“These are some extremely challenging times for us in law enforcement”, Police Chief Jerry Dyer told the crowd. “When you look around this nation, and you see the civil unrest, the protests, the racial tensions that we see in communities across America”.
He described the ceremony as rebuilding and restoring the organization after the impacts of the recession.
Also named were five new Police Captains and five new Lieutenants, as well as a new Crime Scene Investigation Bureau Manager.
“I am so proud today as a stand before you”, concluded Chief Dyer. “I’m excited and I am proud as the Police Chief of this organization. There are some great things happening in our department, some great things happening in Fresno.
“We need to start looking to the future, and put the past behind us”.
