(KMJ) – A California Highway Patrol Motor Officer remains in critical condition following a collision on Highway 180 Tuesday afternoon.
The CHP says the Officer was responding to reports of a crash on the 180 between Clovis and Peach around 5:30 p.m. According to officers, the driver of a pickup truck did not see the officer on his motorcycle and pulled into his lane. The resulting collision flipped the officer and his motorcycle over the center divider. The motorcycle then caught fire.
The CHP says the officer suffered serious injuries but was alert and talking when ambulance crews arrived. He as taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
