KMJ HOSTS, CALLERS REACT TO WALGREENS MURDER

Murder charges have been filed against the man accused of the senseless killing of Madera Walgreens employee, Erick Velazquez on Monday night.

The suspect, Narciso Gallardo Fernandez, admitted to having a “disdain or grudge against pharmacies” according to Madera Police.

Was he inspired by alleged United Healthcare CEO assassin, Luigi Mangione?

KMJ’s hosts and callers have been trying to figure out the motive. Please take a listen:

Coincidentally, the Feds announced this week they are pursuing the death penalty for Mangione.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – FEBRUARY 21: Luigi Mangione appears at a hearing for the murder of UHC CEO Brian Thompson at Manhattan Criminal Court on February 21, 2025 in New York City. Mangione is accused of slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson late last year and is making his first appearance on state charges of murder as an act of terrorism. He is facing 11 counts for the Dec. 4 shooting of Thompson outside a midtown Manhattan hotel which set off a massive manhunt. He is also facing federal charges of murder and other charges in Pennsylvania, where he was arrested. (Photo by Curtis Means – Pool/Getty Images)

Madera Police Chief Gino Chiaramonte said Narciso Gallardo Fernandez entered the store and opened fire, killing Erick Velasquez. It appears the killing was random as police say there was no known relation between the two men. (KFSN)
