
FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) β Health officials have confirmed the first two pediatric deaths during this yearβs respiratory virus season in Fresno County.
The Department of Health says a 13-month-old baby girl died of the flu, and they had not been vaccinated for flu or RSV.
A 17-month-old boy also died from RSV. Their vaccination status is unknown at this time.
Across the state, the California Department of Public Health says 24 children between the ages of zero and 17 have died with the flu.
In ages 18 to 64, there were 331 flu deaths, and over 1,000 California residents 65 and older died with the illness.
