1 of 2 Teenagers Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle In Sanger

SANGER, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — One of the two teenagers hit by a vehicle in Sanger Tuesday night has died from their injuries. 

Police have revealed that the victims were a boy and a girl who were both 17. 

Sanger Unified released a statement confirming that the victims were students. 

Counseling and other resources will be provided on campuses for anyone in need. 

The crash happened at about 7:20 p.m. on Bethel at Almond avenues. 

Police say they were crossing the street when they were hit by a driver who did not see them. 

One of the victims passed away at the hospital. Police did not say if it was the boy or girl. 

The driver stayed at the scene following the crash and is cooperating with the investigation. 

The crash happened just a block away from where 10-year-old Jameson Doyle was killed after being hit by a truck last year

Authorities say the second victim in Tuesday night’s collision remains in critical condition.
