
FRESNO, CA, (KMJ) – A large earthquake struck rocked northern California, Thursday morning.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded by the United States Geological Survey in Humboldt County.
The quake struck 45 miles SW of the coastal town of Eureka at 10:44 a.m. PST.
It was initially reported as a 6.0, but then was quickly upgraded by USGS to a 6.6.

Then the USGS said it was a magnitude 7.0 located about 61 miles west – SW of Ferndale, California.
NOAA, the National Weather Service has issued a Tsunami Warning for the west coast, calling the earthquake a magnitude: 7.3, then later revising it to a 7.0
Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed.
