FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) – Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni says a recent drug bust has gone a long way to protect people from fentanyl.
Several packages of the powdered drug were found during a traffic stop on Interstate 5.
Officials say there was enough fentanyl to kill 7.5 million people.
This year alone in Fresno County, 48 deaths have been fentanyl-related.
32-year-old Mario Hernandez and 21-year-old Manuel Lopez were arraigned Monday on charges of possession of narcotics for sale.
They can face up to 15 years if convicted.
Listen to the report by KMJ’s Liz Kern.
