REEDLEY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) – A celebration of life was held in Reedley for Malachi Rios.
The Reedley High School graduate passed away in early July following a years-long battle with cancer.
Wednesday’s service at the Mennonite Church was open to the public.
The family welcomed anyone whose life was touched by Rios.
Rios was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer in December of 2022.
He went into remission last May, but his cancer later returned.
In April, Malachi went to Mexico for holistic treatments.
The following month, the football player and prom king was able to walk across the graduation stage.
The treatment did not work and his cancer spread rapidly.
