Autopsy Reveals Newborn Baby, Found Dead in Southeast Fresno, Was Female

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – More details are released Monday by the Fresno Police Dept. about a newborn baby, found dead in southeast Fresno, last week.

Fresno Police officers responded around 6:30a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 to a home on the 300 S. Block of Backer, near Huntington.

Police say the residents told investigators they discovered the infant in their backyard, but its unknown how it ended up there or who it belonged to.

An autopsy was conducted on Saturday, July 6, 2024, which determined the infant was female, and had just been born before her body was discovered.

Further testing will determine the cause of death and if the infant was alive at birth.
