Fresno Police Release ID of Woman Who Allegedly Carjacked Vehicle with Toddler Inside

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Police release the identify of a woman who allegedly carjacked a vehicle with one-year-old child in the back seat, last Friday

The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Brandy Denise Cortez,

Fresno Police say just after 11:00 am on Friday, Cortez stole the sedan at the Arco gas station on Clinton and Marks Avenues.

Officers found the car about an hour later, crashed into a dirt field on North Hayes between Olive and Belmont.

The child was not hurt

Cortez was booked into the fresno county jail.

She’s now facing charges of kidnapping, vehicle theft, child endangering, and a probation violation.
