FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Twenty-five suspected gang members are in a Fresno courtroom on Tuesday, scheduled for arraignment on charges in five separate cases as a result of “Operation Gridlock.”
The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges on Monday.
The months-long sting was announced last Friday, May 17, 2024, when Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama joined federal, state and local law enforcement to reveal the results.
“Operation Gridlock” targeted violent street gangs and human trafficking.
Police say they found nearly 60 illegal guns, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and drugs.
Authorities say the people arrested were involved in four gangs that were forming an alliance with each other.
The District Attorney’s office says the charges include 55 felony counts in five separate cases.
Additional charges are expected against others believed to be involved in the organized crime network.
