If I Ran The Zoo
What would it be like if you ran the zoo? Would you be a Zoological Care Specialist caring for our animals? Would you be Veterinarian keeping our animals healthy? Would you be an Educator teaching other students about our animals? If your camper is ready to try out a career at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, this is the week for them. During this five-day camp, your camper will enjoy daily zoo tours, animal visits, crafts and games.
Mythical Creatures
What do unicorns, yetis, and gnomes have in common? They are amazing mythical creatures. Our animals inspire our imaginations and curiosity during this camp to find out more about these creatures. This camp explores how our animals are related to mythical creatures, how art depicts these creatures and how we can use biology to explore more about these creatures. During this five-day camp, your camper will enjoy daily zoo tours, animal visits, crafts and games.
Grossology
Why do snails leave a trail of slime? Why do giraffes chew their cud? Why are some things that animals do gross? Campers will learn about the animal world by exploring the so-called “gross” things that animals do and why animals do them. During this five-day camp, your camper will enjoy daily zoo tours, animal visits, crafts and games.
Zoolympics
Can you out jump a kangaroo? Can you hold your breath longer than a sea lion? Are you stronger than a siamang? Your camper will learn all about the athletic characteristics of our animals and campers can compete in animal themed Olympic challenges. During this five-day camp, your camper will enjoy daily zoo tours, animal visits, crafts and games.
