FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A woman convicted of the kidnapping and torture of a Fresno County teenager has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Sandra Garcia learned her punishment in court on Monday morning.
Prosecutors say she developed the plot back in 2016 after her then-boyfriend evicted her from his home.
Garcia then recruited her son, Mark Anthony Roque, to kidnap and sexually assault her ex’s 13-year-old daughter.
Garcia and Roque were both found guilty of at least a dozen charges.
Roque is expected to be sentenced for his role in the crimes later this spring.
