SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) — The Sanger Police Department continues to investigate after a girl was briefly kidnapped on Wednesday.
Police say the girl was walking home from Jefferson Elementary School near JFK Park when a white van or SUV pulled up beside her.
The girl said a man wearing dark clothing and a mask jumped out and grabbed her and put her in the vehicle.

She said a woman then started driving. The kidnappers only got a few blocks before they stopped and let her out. The girl ran home and her family called police.
“We would just encourage children to walk home in pairs or groups of children,” Sanger Police Chief Greg Garner said. “It’s safer than if you’re by yourself.”
Police are also looking for surveillance video in the area that might show the van or SUV.
