Triple Homicide in Reedley, Two Victims ID’d, Resident Missing

UPDATE: Two people found dead at a home in Reedley over the weekend have been identified as 81-year-old Billy Bonds and 44-year-old Guadalupe Bonds.

Reedley Police Chief Joe Garza said the third person has yet to be identified.

Both individuals were residents of the house in question and were well-known members of the Reedley community. The third victim, found at the same location, has not yet been positively identified. Efforts to confirm their identity are continuing, and we are working closely with the coroner’s office.

Police discovered the three bodies at a home on Church and Curtis Avenues on Saturday.

During the investigation, officers found signs of foul play.

The cause of death has not been released for any of the victims pending the autopsies, but Chief Garza said a safe that had guns in it was found open with nothing inside.

Police are still searching for Matthew Bonds. He lives at the home and is considered at risk due to health issues.

Family members gave police possible ideas of where Bonds could be, but he was not found.

Authorities are still investigating the incident as a case of murder and burglary.

More information is expected to be released later this week.

REEDLEY, CA (KMJ) Confusion, sadness and suspicion after an apparent triple homicide in the normally quiet community of Reedley.

Three bodies, two men and a woman, were discovered Saturday after reports of a possible burglary.

The victims have not been identified. 43 year old Matthew Bonds, who lives at the home, is missing. He has not been named a suspect.

“As part of the ongoing investigation into the tragic events that occurred in the 1100 block of South Church Avenue, the Reedley Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating Matthew Bonds, a 43-year-old resident of the involved address who is currently missing. Bonds is believed to be at risk, not only due to the recent events at his place of residence but also because of known health issues. His current whereabouts are unknown, and all attempts to communicate with him have been unsuccessful”, a news release from RPD said.

“Officers were dispatched to 1100 block of South Church to the house behind. A subject had come over looking for a family member and identified what he thought was a burglary that occurred,” Reedley police Chief Joe Garza said.

A cause of death has not been released.
