FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Palestinian Flag was being raised in Fresno on Friday, as Hanukkah celebrations are underway.
The flag raising was at 2:30p.m. at Eaton Plaza, considered a free speech area by the City of Fresno.
It’s the site where the City of Fresno sponsored an Israeli flag-raising on October 9, 2023, which sparked outrage among area Palestinians and supporters.
Council Member Miguel Arias is the sponsor, who while speaking on Friday with KMJ’s Broeske and Musson Show said that other groups had raised their flags:
Council Member Garry Bredefeld when asked by host John Broeske if he was sponsoring it, replied “no.”
The Palestinian Flag will fly through Monday.
