TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A Dinuba principal has bonded out of jail after being arrested for his role in a suspected DUI crash near Reedley.
The CHP says they arrested 43-year-old Dinuba resident Blake Benham Sunday night following a crash on Road 56 near Avenue 430.
He is listed on the Kennedy Elementary website as the schools’ Principal.
The CHP says Benham was driving a white Ford truck, when his vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic.
The truck hit a blue Nissan SUV with four people inside.
Two people died at the scene, while the other two were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The two people have been identified as 55-year-old Gloria Jamie Barajas and her daughter, 35-year-old Brenda Quinonez.
Benham suffered minor injuries.
He was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and manslaughter.
Benham has been placed on leave until further notice according to the school district.
