Kitchen Fire Sparks at Tarpey Village McDonald’s in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Firefighters were cleaning up after flames spread through the kitchen of a McDonald’s restaurant in Clovis.

The fire disrupted traffic during the morning commute at Ashlan and Clovis in the Tarpey Village area.

Smoke could be seen coming from the top of the building.

Fire officials said it’s still unclear what started the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire, and everyone evacuated quickly so no one was injured.

Crews were able to get everyone’s belongings out because they said no one would be able to go inside.

Fresno County Fire, Fresno Fire and the Clovis Fire Department all responded to the scene.

Ashlan was closed down for some time for crews to bring over the fire hydrant to fight the fire.

Fire officials say it could be months before everything is cleaned up inside and it’s safe to re-open.
