The Employment Development Department is announcing that the department along with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency are announcing up to $9 million is available under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Those grants will be awarded to research, design, and implement projects that focus only on farmworker needs at a regional level.
Essential skills and upskilling training will be offered to help farmworkers advance in the agricultural industry and or prepare for advancement outside of the agricultural sector.
The programs are designed to assist farmworkers with such things as obtaining good-quality jobs including jobs, offer benefits, have predictable hours and opportunities for career advancement.
Applications must be received no later than Wednesday, November 29th.
