LINDSAY, Calif. (KMJ) — A registered sex offender was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he was accused of peeping in windows in Lindsay.
The Lindsay Police Department responded to the report of a man looking into a 17-year-old girl’s bedroom window while she was changing.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the area of E. Tulare Rd. and N. Mirage Ave. in Lindsay.
When officers arrived they located and detained 37-year-old Jose Magana Ibarra, who is a registered sex offender.
Officers talked to the teen and her mother who said it sounded like the man was trying to force open the bedroom window.
Police processed the scene for evidence and located smudge marks on the bedroom window and shoeprints matching Ibarra’s in the dirt outside the window.
Fingerprints were also lifted from the window and fresh pry marks were located on the window.
Ibarra was taken into custody without incident, and he was found to be in possession of burglary tools.
He was booked into the South County Detention Facility in Porterville on a charge of Attempted First Degree Burglary.
Anyone with further information regarding this crime is urged to contact Sgt. John Moreno of the Lindsay Department of Public Safety at (559)562-2511 ext. 7113.
