HANFORD, Calif. (KMJ) — The Hanford Police Department announced the arrest of a man last month who is accused of possession and distribution of child pornography.
The investigation began in October of 2022 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) contacted the police department with a cyber tip about somebody in Hanford who was distributing possible child sexual abuse material.
Detectives were able to track down the residence where the illicit material was coming from.
A search warrant was served at the Hanford residence on July 25th.
The search warrant was conducted by the Hanford Police Department as well as the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.
During the service of the search warrant, the suspect was identified as 20-year-old Jose Melquiades Martinez Toscano.
Detectives say Toscano admitted to watching and distributing child sexual abuse material and he was found to have multiple videos in his possession.
Toscano was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of child sexual abuse material.
