MERCED, Calif. (KMJ) — A Merced police officer is facing a list of felony charges.
Jacob Paynter appeared in court on Monday, accused of kidnapping, second-degree robbery, assault by a public officer, false imprisonment, filing a false report, and petty theft.
The charges stem from events on or around November 24 in Merced.
A grand jury submitted an indictment last week and he’s due back in court later this month.
