REEDLEY, CA (KMJ) – An illegal biological Covid lab was discovered in Reedley on March 3rd.
Reedley’s City Manager, Nicole Zieba, sharing her biggest concerns Thursday with KMJ’s Broeske and Musson Show about the possible existence of more of these types of labs.
Zieba says local law responded after code enforcement became suspicious in late December after finding the lab,
She say they called the feds, state and the county, who went in January to investigate.
The County of Fresno says the biohazard material was contained and disposed of properly.
Local media first started reporting on the story the end of July.
Fresno City Councilman Garry Bredefeld held a news conference Monday, July 31, 2023, calling for more transparency with the public.
Zieba told KMJ that there are still investigations that need to be done.
She said ever since the story broke in the press there has been no communication with the law agencies but Zeiba says she knew that may happen.
