The Lively Arts Foundation proudly presents the Central California Ballet Nutcracker ’22!
Lively Arts Foundation’s presentation of Central California Ballet’s joyous and highly entertaining Nutcracker Ballet has been recognized in Dance Magazine for its resurrection of the character of the vengeful Mouse Queen from E.T.A. Hoffman’s original Nutcracker fairy tale.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s memorable music, the whole family will delight in the festive Party Scene, the Battle between the Nutcracker General and the Mouse King; and Marie’s Journey to the Land of Sweets. There she will meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and enjoys the divertissements: dancers from China, Arabia, Russia, the unforgettable Mother Ginger and her Bon Bons! and the mesmerizing Waltz of the Flowers.
This year’s Guest Artists, dancing the Grand Pas, are Olivia Powell and Walker Martin, Principal Dancers from the Diablo Ballet in Walnut Creek CA. They will be joined by over 100 talented local dancers and performers.
In keeping with its commitment to introduce the arts to the undeserved members of the community Lively Arts’ Discover Dance! Project will invite 500 at risk students to attend the performances at no charge.
