FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A ribbon cutting is held Tuesday at Fresno Humane Animal Service’s brand new animal center.

Fresno Humane Animal Services will run the full-service facility for the City of Fresno, as the contract with the CCSPCA expires Friday, July 1, 2022. The CCSPCA’s existing shelter at 103 S. Hughes Ave. is opening a new spay/neutering clinic.

“This facility will help save pet lives through adoptions, reunifications, and through spaying/neutering. Thanks to all those who supported this project.”

-Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama

FHAS will be in charge of both the City of Fresno and the County of Fresno’s animal shelters.

UC Davis invested $600k in the project.

“Save the date! Join us this Tuesday, June 28th, at 1:00pm for the ribbon cutting ceremony and public unveiling of the City’s new animal center. While we won’t be open for regular business until July 1st, the shelter will be open for tours and to accept start-up donations. Stop by between 1:00pm-3:30pm for a sneak peek and maybe drop off some fleece blankets or treats for the animals! See you there!!!”
