(KMJ) – The Cat House on The Kings is celebrating their 30th anniversary.
For 30 years, non profit located along the Kings River in Parlier has been saving cat lives and making human family lives better.
Now, the Cat House on the Kings is getting ready to celebrate during Saturday’s Spring Open House.
The Spring Open House is this Saturday, April 30th from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Volunteer and the Cat House on the Kings Spokesperson Beth Caffrey says there are about a thousand cats living on the property.
Last year, CHOTK rescued 1,500 cats, and spayed and neutered thousands more in Central California without any government funding – relying 100% on charitable donations.
The Spring Open House is one of the events to raise money for the many cats.
Join us at The Cat House on the Kings 12-acre sanctuary along the Kings River for our Spring Open House Fundraiser helping us to celebrate 30 years of rescuing cats. This (primarily) outdoor event will take place across our 12 acres and will include music, food for purchase, an epic silent auction, outside vendors, cat merchandise and guided and self-guided tours of The Cat House on the Kings. This is a family-friendly event, so please bring your children and friends! ADMISSION: BRING A DONATION! (Cash or supplies … cat food, cat litter, bleach, paper towels, etc.)
“We will have wonderful special guests like Miss City of Fresno Ashley Cruz, there will be food trucks, our huge silent auction is legendary… and of course a thousand cats,” said Caffrey.
The Cat House on the Kings is California’s largest no-cage, no-kill, and lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center.
Their mission is to place rescued cats and kittens into loving, permanent homes; to provide a safe, happy and healthy home for unwanted cats and kittens in a unique, no-cage facility; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
The Cat House on the Kings offers low cost spay and neuter referrals for the community and operates an adoption center seven days a week inside the Blackstone/Ashlan Petco store in Fresno.
