FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A funeral was held Monday for a Fresno County correctional officer who died in the line of duty from Covid-19.
52-year-old Juan Cruz had been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2012.
Cruz died on November 5th after being hospitalized in October.
The public services were held Monday in Northwest Fresno at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office’s Eagle One helicopter flew-over, taps was played and Cruz was honored with a 21-gun salute.
Cruz leaves behind three children.
His family held their own private gathering.
