FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Police detained a gunman who walked onto a school campus in Central Fresno on Friday morning.
Two schools were locked down but police said the stand off ended peacefully.
Fresno Police believe he’s the same man involved in a shooting earlier in downtown.
They say around 10:30 Friday morning a victim was grazed by a bullet at Stanislaus and B streets.
A short time later, a gunman entered the park at Kepler Neighborhood School near Broadway and Stanislaus.
Both Kepler and Columbia elementary, nearby, were placed on lockdown.
He showed his weapon to a PE teacher, who happed to be a former police officer, and tried to diffuse the situation.
Fresno police arrived on scene.
The man surrendered without incident.
