FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – An effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom has secured the number of signatures needed to qualify for the ballot this fall, and Fresno’s District Attorney offers her take on a possible recall.
Speaking with KMJ’s Broeske and Musson about the Governor’s recall, DA Lisa Smittcamp said while she approves of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s picks for judges in the state and in Fresno County, she feels Gov Newsom falls short when it comes to crime and punishment.
Smittcamp also mentioned the DMV and the EDD which have both seen audits
Smittcamp said she supports Anne Marie Schubert, the Sacramento District Attorney who helped lock up the Golden State Killer
Only one governor has ever been recalled in California, in 2003 when Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected to take over for Gov. Gray Davis.
