Fresno Mayor Dyer Has Warning For Mask Protesters

After another anti-mask protest this weekend outside of a pair of stores in north Fresno, Mayor Jerry Dyer issued a warning for those participating and offered encouragement for store management.

At a press conference Monday, Dyer called the protests at Total Wine and Sprouts Farmers Market divisive and “unproductive”.  Sprouts shut its doors for a time while the protesters, a group called “Coalition for Individual Liberties, confronted mask-wearing shoppers.

Protest organizer Ben Martin was reportedly cited for trespassing at the Sprouts demonstration.  Martin also led a previous protest at a Trader Joe’s location in north Fresno which caused the store to close temporarily.
