Fresno County Breaks Ground on $14 Million Sheriff’s Area Two Substation

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno County breaks ground Monday morning on the new $14 million dollar Sheriff’s Area Two Substation.

Leaders from within the County of Fresno and the Sheriff’s Office held the ceremony to break ground on the 6.5 acre parcel of land located along N. Armstrong Ave., between Belmont and E. Harvey Avenues.

The Area Two Substation will serve as the headquarters for all patrol operations in the metropolitan area, featuring 22,700 square feet of office space.

The new facility will serve as a hub for patrol briefings and community meetings.

There’s more than 35,000 square foot vehicle storage building to hold the specialty unit vehicles and equipment that’s deployed during emergency situations.

The new complex will replace the current Area Two Substation located on Shields Ave., just east of Clovis Ave.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be $14 million.

The county has awarded the construction contract to Klassen Corporation.

The estimated date of completion is August 2021.
