Mandatory Evacuations Ordered for the SQF Complex Fire

(KMJ) – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office orders mandatory evacuations as the SQF Complex fire continues to grow in the Sequoia National Forest.

The Evacuation Order issued Friday by Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is still active for the communities of: Cedar Slope, Ponderosa, and Pyles Camp. And, an Evacuation Advisory remains in place for: Camp Nelson, Rodgers Camp, Coy Flat and Mountain Aire.

These orders and advisories affect 242 structures. Now, a temporary evacuation point has been set up by the Red Cross at Porterville College Stadium.

The blaze is made up of the Castle and Shotguns Fires. There are currently 485 personnel on the fire lines, with additional resources still on the way.

The latest report states the SQF Complex Fire covers more than 35,600 acres with little to no containment reported.
