(KMJ) – Lawmakers from across California continue to react to news of the passing of former State Assemblyman and Senator Tom Berryhill.
It was announced Saturday the current Sanislaus County Supervisor passed away, but his cause of death has yet to be released. He was 67.
Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors, Berryhill previously represented the 25th Assembly District from 2006-2010, along with serving the 8th Senate District from 2010-2018 .
Andreas Borgeas, who current holds the seat in the 8th Senate District issued the following statement after learning of Berryhill’s death:
“Our community has lost a giant. Tom Berryhill led a dedicated life of service to his community both in the California Legislature and the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors,” said Senator Borgeas. “Tom was my mentor and imparted the importance of respect, civility and collegiality in California politics. My wife Anna and I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Berryhill family as they endure this difficult time.”
