FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A second Fresno County child has died from Coronavirus.
The Fresno County Department of Public Health cannot give details about the case because of HIPPA privacy laws.
According to Fresno County Health Dept. data the child was 17 years old or younger.
Valley Children’s Hospital confirmed on Friday that the child was a patient.
California recorded its first pediatric death due to Covid-19 in July, when a teenager from Fresno also died at Valley Children’s Hospital.
That teen had underlying health conditions, but no more details were released.
On Friday, Fresno County reported 21 new COVID-19 related deaths.
The Heath Department released the latest data Friday afternoon.
There are now 226 people whose death was Coronavirus-related.
1,052 COVID-19 cases were added in the update.
There are 11,650 active cases, while 1048 people had recovered.
