Body of Second Porterville Firefighter Found In Burned Library

(KMJ) – The Porterville Fire Department says the body of a firefighter missing since Tuesday night’s blaze at the City Library has now been recovered.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, crews located the remains of 25-year old Patrick Jones.  A procession then escorted his body from that site to the Coroner’s Office in Tulare just before 6:30 Thursday morning.

In addition to Jones, 35-year old Porterville Fire Captain Ramon “Ray” Figueroa was also killed in the intentionally set blaze inside the Porterville City Library Building.

Porterville Police Chief Eric Kroutil now says two 13-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with this fire. And he adds they are both facing charges of manslaughter and arson.
