TULARE COUNTY,CA (KMJ) – An accused reckless driver crashed into a car and killed one person.
At 2:30 Wednesday afternoon Tulare police officers responded to the intersection of Tulare Avenue and Morrison Street to an accident involving two vehicles.
When officers arrived they found both involved vehicles on the north side of the roadway of Tulare Ave.
One of the drivers was found partially ejected.
His passenger was fully ejected and was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The driver, 29 year old Gerardo Lupercio of Tulare, was declared dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that Lupercio was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed.
Police also say that his vehicle was illegally modified with racing type equipment.
The solo occupant of the additional vehicle was also transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The Tulare police department traffic unit is investigating this incident.
