FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Pledge 2 Stop Human Trafficking event was taking place Tuesday in Fresno.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and local law enforcement and a coalition of valley-based nonprofits are joining forces to support to stop human trafficking in the Central Valley.

On Tuesday, Andrea Shabaglian, was standing at the corner of Palm and Shaw, holding a sign and collecting money.

Shabaglian is the founder and executive director of “Made for Them” an organization that sells clothing made by some of the very people who have been pulled from a life of human trafficking.

PTST member organizations, volunteers and supporters from Fresno, including the Fresno Monsters and the Fresno State Hockey Team, were taking to the streets to raise awareness and collect money that will provide direct services to local victims of human trafficking.

Members of the organization Breaking the Chains were posted at the main site at Shaw and Blackstone, where a press conference was being held Tuesday.

Blackstone and Shaw is the site where you can donate.
