Visalia Man Gets Life for Attempted Murder of Officer

(KMJ)  A south valley man was sentenced Friday to life in prison for the attempted murder of a police officer.
Tulare County prosecutors say Paul Ward, 43, came out of a house naked in 2017 and punched a responding officer in the face, before choking him and reaching for his gun.
Another officer struck the Visalia man with a baton and detained him.

Ward must serve 12 years behind bars before he’s eligible for parole.
