FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Friday was a busy day behind the scenes at KMJ, with some of the talents taking on a new journey.
The entire staff at Cumulus Media said goodbye to a retiring Mark Holste, after decades with KMJ.
The KMJ traffic reporter and radio personality filed his last reports Friday after a 20+ year career at the station.
Mark entertained country radio audiences for a number of years on KNAX and KFRE with his warm personable style and down to earth sense of humor.
Mark also “did time” on KKDJ and Oldies 92.9.
Today @KMJNOW traffic reporter & radio personality Mark Holste will file his last reports after a 20+ year career at our station. He’s been in the biz @40+ years. We wish him the best of luck in his retirement!! Mr. Holste – you are a class act, and we will truly miss you! pic.twitter.com/DcYeM6joOh

In 1997 Mark “switched gears” and became a full fledged traffic reporter. Just as Fresno and the valley radio listeners have relied on Mark’s concise traffic reports to help them get to and from work.
KMJ welcomed Greg Lane, who will be reporting traffic among other duties.
” I have big news to share and to be honest I can’t believe what I’m writing, but I’m returning “home” to KISS COUNTRY & KMJ
in the position of traffic reporter in the afternoons, and more to be determined later. It’s true there’s no no place like “home”
I hope you’ll be listening starting officially November 25th. I replace the un replaceable Mark Holste who is going to retire.
Big shoes to fill….”
Another goodbye to Michael Reed, the producer for the Ray Appleton show.
Ray gave a send off on his show, reminiscing with Michael about their work together and Michael’s roots in radio.
Michael Reed wears many on-air hats at KMJ. And he excels at all of them. Michael anchors morning traffic reports on KMJ, serves as Executive Producer for the Ray Appleton Show and hosts Saturday programs AutoShop Talk, Real Talk and the Saturday Morning News. Michael is a talented broadcaster with a varied background which includes stints in construction and in the movies (He has a key role in the original Top Gun!).
Reed is returning to the construction industry, where he has previously worked before coming on board at KMJ.
Michael Reed – the KMJ Ray Appleton Show producer and on-air talent is leaving the station. We wish him welll!
