(KMJ) – Lawmakers from both Madera and Fresno are now working to help nearly 30 families avoid eviction.
Residents of the Laguna Knolls apartments in Madera say they’ve all received eviction notices without reason.
Now they have 60 days to move out.
But Madera city council member Santos Garcia was joined by Fresno city council member Esmeralda Soria in an effort to buy the residents a little more time.
The tenants add that the apartment complex was recently taken over by new management and the new group is looking to renovate the property and increase rent.
