UPDATE: Two victims are identified as Samuel Rosasco, 21, of Oakhurst, & Karina Barnett, 17, of Ahwahnee. The bodies were recovered by the Madera County Sheriff’s Dive Team.
The occupants of the submerged vehicle discovered this morning in Bass Lake were pronounced deceased at the scene. MADERA COUNTY, CA (KMJ) – Two people died after a car flipped over and became submerged in Bass Lake.
It happened Wednesday morning near Road 222 by the Way of Mono Trail and the Forks Resort.
CHP says the two people who were in the car died.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office and Cal Fire were working to recover the vehicle.
The CHP Oakhurst is investigating to determine how the car ended up in the lake
