FRESNO (KMJ) – A former congressman has made it official, he’s running to win his old job back.
Former 21st District Representative David Valadao has officially announced his candidacy for congress.
The Valley Republican will run against Democrat Congressman TJ Cox, the man who ousted him in 2018. Cox won that election by the thinnest of margins, just 862 votes.
In a release, Valadao says he cannot “continue to sit silent while TJ Cox pursues a radical liberal agenda that hurts our communities,”
The massive district includes parts of Fresno, Tulare, Kings and Kern counties.
Valadao and Cox will face off in the primary election in march of next year.
