FRESNO (KMJ) – Governor Gavin Newsom, announcing the names of the regional leaders and statewide experts who will advise him on solutions to the state’s homelessness epidemic.
Fresno City Councilwoman Esmeralda Soria will join a statewide group for meetings across the state to assist local governments in crafting strategies to address homelessness..
“We’ve been working with him, from this region, and he thought that i would be a great representative,” Soria said.
Soria was appointed to the panel by governor Gavin Newsom. They’ll focus on homelessness prevention and early intervention.
“And the other part of the conversation is building more housing,” Soria said. “Build affordable housing to prevent and decrease homelessness.”
The group will hold its first meeting in the Central Valley next month.
