FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno police have arrested a suspect in the murder of man outside a social services agency.
32-year old Matthew Chavez was attacked and stabbed on June 14, 2019 while he standing outside Turning Point on Blackstone Boulevard.
Chavez died from his wounds after being rushed to CRMC.
Police arrested a 57-year-old Zyad Abdulaziz Alsaid – they say both the suspect and the victim were clients at the center.
“He had not returned for a couple of days after the homicide occured,” said Cheif Dyer.
Dyer said Alsaid was from Palestine and had a past history of violence, serving ten years in prison.
He says the attack was unprovoked.
