FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno police have put a stop to a recent surge in downtown car break-ins.
Early Thursday, officers were patrolling a parking garage that had recently been hit with a string of burglaries.
Officers caught Vicente Garcia in the act of breaking into a car. Garcia was arrested and found to be in possession of stolen property.
Police say Garcia admitted to officers he had committed nearly all of the vehicle burglaries in the last 30 days.
Police want to remind folks to help prevent these crimes: never leave valuables in view or in the trunk of your car, completely close car windows, lock all doors, and park in well-lit areas.
