Assemblyman Jim Patterson is hosting a workshop for Fresno business owners and independent contractors to talk about the state supreme court’s *Dynamex* decision, and the proposed state law AB 5, that will have a major impact on independent contractors like truck drivers, janitors, ride-share drivers and many others.
“The California supreme court in 2018, really threw a real curveball at millions of Californians,” Patterson said.
The court decision and pending state law will make it impossible for many people to be independent contractors unless a business can pass a strict new test.
“This really is a horrible attack on free people in a free economy,” Patterson said.
