MERCED, CA (KMJ) – A body pulled from the Delta – Mendota Canal on Saturday is that of a missing Fowler truck driver.
Crews have been looking for Satwant Bains, 56, since he went missing on I-5 last Wednesday morning.
Merced County UnderSheriff Jason Goins says their deputies working with the Fresno County Sheriff’s SARS Team made the discovery.
“One of our deputies spotted a body floating in Delta – Mendota Canal,” said Under-Sheriff Goins. “The subject was retrieved from the water.”
Monday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed Bain’s identify.
His body was found a short distance where his truck was discovered still idling.
The cause of his death is not yet known.
