TULARE COUNTY, CA (KMJ) – An elderly sex offender is facing new charges after exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl, says the Porterville Police Department.
Geronimo Sierra is facing seven felony counts of child molestation in the Porterville area.
Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward announced the charges on Wednesday, saying Sierra was to be arraigned in the afternoon.
69-year-old Sierra is accused of indecent exposure, for showing himself to a 10 year old girl who was sitting in a car outside the window of his house back on March 18th.
Her parents told Porterville Police, and based upon evidence he was arrested at his home on March 22nd.
After bailing out, Sierra was arrested seven days later in connection with the sexual assault of a 6-year-old boy back in 2002.
Both crimes are alleged to have happened in the Porterville area, the DA says.
The DA’s Office says Sierra is a registered sex offender, with convictions of attempted rape and indecent exposure, both of juveniles, dating back to the year 1991.
It is believed there may be other victims of Sierra, who have not come forward.
If convicted on all counts, Sierra faces up to 42 years-to-life in prison.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact Porterville Police Department detectives at 559-782-7400.
