Fresno Man Dies Days After Being Found Injured in Alley


 

FRESNO, CA (KMJ  – A man dies just days after being found injured in a Southeast Fresno alley.

On March 2, 2019, 53 year old Ernesto Hernandez of Fresno passed away in the hospital.

His death has been ruled a homicide and Fresno County Sheriff’s homicide detectives are now conducting an investigation.

Around 11:30 pm on February 24th, someone passing by the alley located off Mayfair Blvd., between E. Normal Ave. and Norris Drive West, noticed Hernandez on the ground, appearing to be injured.

They made a report and an ambulance showed up to check on Hernandez.

EMS personnel transported him to the hospital.

Due to the severity of his injuries, hospital staff notified law enforcement.

The area where Hernandez was found was determined to be a county location in Fresno’s Mayfair District, so Sheriff’s Office detectives responded and began an investigation.

At this time, it is unknown who is responsible for injuring Hernandez and the reason behind it.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify any person or vehicle that may be associated with this crime.
