K9 Deputy Sniffs-Out Drugs In Mail Sent to Tulare County Inmates

TULARE, CA (KMJ) – A K9 deputy in Tulare County sniffs out drug-laced mail sent to inmates.

On January 24, Deputies began investigating mail sent to the Bob Wiley Detention Facility in Visalia.

 

A letter was received at the Detentions Mail Room that appeared to be altered.

 

 

On Feb 2, Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 55-year-old Arlene Villa for sending a letter containing meth.

They say a search of her vehicle turned up a digital scale with a white crystal residue and a glass smoking device containing 0.5 grams of methamphetamine.

On the same day, K-9 Deputy “Faith” found Marijuana/THC “WAX” in an envelope addressed to an inmate currently housed at the jail.

25-year-old Caitlin Wilson was arrested.

Deputies found 0.5 grams of THC “Wax”, 0.3 grams of marijuana, and a glass smoking device inside of her vehicle.

Both Wilson and Villa face charges of Knowingly Bringing a Controlled Substance into a Jail or Prison, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
